"I've worked as a consultant for Deutsche Messe in the Protocol & Events dept. since September 2013. It was during my student years that I first gained an insight into the way Deutsche Messe intersects with the rest of the world.

My college major was in International Information Management, so I was right at home as a temporary worker helping to build and maintain the Electronic Visitor Information System. Connecting exhibitors, visitors and key figures from business and politics via a single platform – this idea greatly inspired me and continues to do so today.

In the Protocol & Events department I work as part of a team organizing our opening ceremonies and other special events as well as providing VIP services for our political guests from Germany and abroad.

I particularly value our networked way of working and the broad diversity of tasks at our company."

Gülsen Akgül

Global Fairs division

"I've been on board at Deutsche Messe since July 2014 and am active as a strategic marketing manager for a variety of event formats at HANNOVER MESSE and CeMAT in the area of Global Fairs.

Thanks to my many years of experience in the field I am aware of the great challenge which is always involved in developing and implementing marketing measures for international projects. Creating a cross-country marketing strategy for the Global Fairs division is the goal and challenge of my job.

I value the fast and direct contact with my colleagues in Germany and abroad, since I see myself as a kind of link and can bring our events forward via marketing campaigns."

"I've been part of the Deutsche Messe team since 2012; I took over management of the LIGNA department in December 2013. Our six-member team is involved in marketing and organizing the world's leading trade fair for woodworking and timber processing machinery.

A key part of our job involves dialoguing with companies from the industry, and I enjoy the direct contact with them, since we are service providers and eager to enhance and grow our event in innovative ways. After all, the ultimate point is for our exhibitors to make successful business deals.

I thoroughly enjoy the fine cooperation within our team and with the other people we come into contact with."

"I’ve been supporting Deutsche Messe in advertising and marketing since November 2012. After my studies in architecture I took up graphic design and corporate communications. At Deutsche Messe I'm responsible for our 'Deutsche Messe' brand as well as for corporate design and printed advertising materials. Here I am always glad to be able to draw on my experience in brand development and visual design.

The interconnectedness of these topics with corporate identity means I am involved on a daily basis with corporate and brand values and am also responsible for ensuring that Deutsche Messe remains one of the industry’s leading brands."

Wioletta Wata-Ludewig

Finance division

"I've been with Deutsche Messe since December 2013, where I work as a financial accountant. One of my main areas of responsibility consists of advising one of our subsidiaries – Fachausstellungen Heckmann GmbH – on tax and commercial balance sheet matters.

I feel very much at home in the project-oriented, internationally focused corporate structure of Deutsche Messe; my language skills in English, Polish and Spanish are an added bonus.

Since I consider myself a service provider for our other teams here, I greatly value the direct and open communication with my colleagues from the other departments. I also enjoy the working atmosphere at Deutsche Messe and the feeling of being part of a global trade fair operation."

"Since August 2013 I've served as a department manager in the Global Fairs division, responsible for HANNOVER MESSE spinoffs worldwide. An important part of my job consists of selling our international trade fairs and providing global customer support.

I really value having a direct line to industrial enterprises, since active cooperation with our customers is the only way to develop our events and ensure their success.

We work together on a daily basis with staff members and colleagues from around the world to develop our trade fairs as business platforms for our exhibitors in the BRIC nations, Turkey, the United States and other countries.

Cooperating with many different people in such an international environment allows us to get the big picture, resulting in new challenges and exciting encounters on a daily basis."
