Accessibility
Services for people with disabilities
We have compiled some useful information for you here so that you can make your visit to the trade fair pleasant, effective and successful.
Arrival by public transportation
Elevators to the subway stations are available at the central stops "Hauptbahnhof", "Kröpcke" and "Aegidientorplatz" (junctions in the light rail network). The Messe/Nord terminus is an elevated platform.
For the journey from the main station to the exhibition grounds, tram line 8 to the North Entrance is ideal for visitors with limited mobility. This route is served by the new silver light rail vehicles, which have automatic height adjustment of the entrances to ensure that wheelchair users can also board comfortably without assistance. The wide double doors have no central bar and there are two spaces (with folding seats) for wheelchair users in each carriage.
A tactile guide rail system and tactile squares in the subway stations Hauptbahnhof and Kröpcke make it easier for blind visitors to board the subway trains. Acoustic train destination announcements are also installed.
Arriving from the airport
Whether you are arriving or departing by car or cab - the vehicle stops are located directly in front of the entrance and exit doors of Terminals A, B and C. The doors are wide enough for wheelchair users, are all self-opening and have no thresholds. The kerbs are flattened at important transition points.
The Shuttle Bus Airport - Exhibition Center stop, which shuttles between the airport and the main railway station, is also located directly in front of the passenger terminal, on the arrivals level between Terminals A and B.
You can also take the S-Bahn line 5 from the airport to the main railway station.
Parking spaces
Some of the paid parking spaces outside the exhibition grounds are reserved as special parking spaces for people with walking disabilities. These special parking spaces are located in the immediate vicinity of the open trade fair entrances and are specially marked for the trade fairs and exhibitions.
Disabled toilets and elevators
You can find an overview of all disabled toilets and elevators in the halls in our site plan in the download area. The majority of our 24 halls are at ground level and have automatically opening doors.
