The WomenPower career congress has been taking place alongside HANNOVER MESSE for 20 years. Now in its 21st year, it was time for a comprehensive rebranding: WomenPower has become FEMWORX .
In the new name, the topic of career is already associated with the female aspect, although the X also stands for the unknown quantity and the X chromosome, as Johanna Meyer, project manager of FEMWORX, explains.
The duration is also new: instead of one day, the career congress will now take place over two days. On the one hand, this is intended to give the topics of career and diversity promotion more space within HANNOVER MESSE, and on the other hand, Johanna Meyer and her team have enough topics and ideas to fill these two days with a program.
The congress offers lectures, panel discussions, interactive workshops and networking opportunities to empower women at all career levels. The accompanying exhibition offers the opportunity to find out about career prospects, studies, coaching and mentoring offers as well as other labor market topics and trends. The workshops, lectures and discussion rounds will focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, careers and new work. New topics include finance, health and gender design.
One of the new features this year is the "Speed-Date your job" format - a job speed dating event in which companies and applicants each have 90 seconds to present themselves and then have two minutes to chat. With tables rotating every five minutes, as in classic speed dating, the interested parties have time to get to know numerous employers such as Baker Hughes, Finanz Informatik, PowerCo, Lufthansa Technik and Rossmann.
Applicants also have the opportunity to have new application photos taken on site. This year, for the first time, a photographer will be present at the congress to put interested applicants in the right light.
At the company pitches, the participating exhibitors want to take the opportunity to present themselves as attractive employers in 100-second pitches. Companies such as Amprion, the German Armed Forces, Deutsche Telekom, TenneT, VW and Ziehl-Abegg will be presenting themselves here.
This year's congress program will once again be rounded off by the Networking Night on Thursday evening and the presentation of the Engineer Woman Award , which is being held for the twelfth time this year.
