Hannover, Germany. The first IAA TRANSPORTATION ended extremely successfully on Sunday. Organizers, visitors and exhibitors were very satisfied with the new concept, which this year represented the entire spectrum of transport and logistics.

1,402 exhibitors from 42 countries and a total of 230 national and international speakers were represented at IAA TRANSPORTATION, presenting their technical innovations, developments and concepts for the climate-neutral mobility of tomorrow.

"Following on from the IAA MOBILITY, we have also successfully developed and reinvented the IAA TRANSPORTATION. We are now showing the entire spectrum of logistics, from trucks to cargo bikes, from delivery vans to parcel drones. This courage has paid off, and the great response from exhibitors and visitors shows how right this new approach is," said VDA President Hildegard Müller at the close of the IAA TRANSPORTATION in Hanover. "Transport and logistics are the lifelines of our society and economy. With its new concept, the IAA TRANSPORTATION has provided answers to the many challenges facing the industry worldwide. In Hanover, it became clear: the industry is delivering what is needed for a sustainable future."

IAA TRANSPORTATION scores with internationality

The position as the world's largest platform for the transport and logistics industry was once again consolidated by the IAA TRANSPORTATION in 2022 - around two-thirds of the exhibitors were international companies. Visitors came from 72 countries.

In total, IAA TRANSPORTATION welcomed more than 1,400 journalists from 57 countries. Exhibitors held 89 press conferences. International media from 97 countries accounted for 77 percent of the coverage. Social media channel posts were viewed over 2 million times. In addition to Germany, there was very intensive coverage, especially in the USA, Canada, India, Japan, China and South Korea.

The exhibitors in detail: a total of 1,402 exhibitors presented themselves at the IAA TRANSPORTATION 2022, around two-thirds of them international companies. Among them were 260 exhibitors of bodies, trailers and semi-trailers and around 600 suppliers. For the first time, 68 international startups were also represented in Hannover. Likewise, six Cargobike manufacturers presented their product innovations, making an important contribution to low-emission and city-friendly logistics.

Visitors enthusiastic about new concept and experience opportunities

The majority of visitors gave the IAA TRANSPORTATION and its new concept a very positive rating. The range of innovations, new models and the internationality of the exhibitors were rated as particularly good. The opportunity to try out new products for themselves was particularly popular: among the experience formats, the IAA Test Drives, for example, were given top marks by three quarters of the visitors.

Around 7,500 test drives took place at the IAA Test Drives and the IAA Cargobike Parcours. A total of 61 commercial vehicles could be tested at the IAA Test Drives, and the entire test operation was carried out in a climate-neutral manner. On the IAA Cargobike Parcours, visitors were able to test the latest models under real-life conditions. The crowds for the test rides were huge, with many test rides fully booked.

The next IAA TRANSPORTATION will take place in Hanover from September 17 to 22, 2024 (press day on September 16, 2022).
